What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants?

When a full set of upper teeth or a full set of lower teeth is replaced using four implant posts, it is called an all-on-4 dental implant. This process uses four posts that are the same as any dental implant post, placed strategically in the gums and fused to the jaw. They are situated so that a full set of false teeth, or crowns, can be placed on them. So, if you need a full set of teeth, do not hesitate to contact our dentist for a consultation on All-on-4 dental implant services in Toronto.

What Are the Best Materials to Create All-on-4 Dental Implants?

Often, the implant posts are made of titanium to provide strong support for teeth replacement with little to no chance of reaction. The crowns placed over dental implants are meticulously crafted to resemble natural teeth in color and shape. They’re typically made from durable materials such as ceramic or porcelain, though the choice of material will be tailored to each individual’s needs and preferences through discussion with the dentist or care provider. For our Toronto dental implant service, call us today.

The crowns will be connected to support each other, and the posts will support all of them and hold them in place. This essentially creates a permanent set of dentures within the mouth to replace the entire row of teeth. They are cleaned, flossed, and treated as the original teeth are and can last a lifetime.

Benefits of All-on-4 Implants

Below is a list of advantages you will take after replacing your lost teeth with all-on-4 dental implants in Toronto:

  1. Permanent Solution: One of the primary advantages of these implants is their permanence; they typically do not require replacement for the duration of the patient’s life. This not only reduces stress by minimizing the need for further repairs and replacements but also provides teeth that function similarly to natural ones, allowing for a return to normal eating habits and diets.
  2. Minimal Lifestyle Changes: Due to the stability provided by the all-on-4 implants, there should be no need for significant lifestyle adjustments. It is still essential to maintain regular dental care and appointments. In the event of a cracked tooth, it can often be repaired, much like an original tooth would receive a filling, or if necessary, it may be replaced without requiring all the teeth to be replaced.

If you have multiple teeth missing, multiple dental implants may be a good solution for you. If you need more information about our service on multiple dental implants in Toronto, call us today.

Potential Risks of All-on-4 Implants

During the implant process, there is a risk of discomfort, which can be mild pain. There should not be extended periods of pain or any extreme pain.

As the process may need to be done in stages, it may require more than one appointment, and each appointment carries the risk of pain and discomfort. Call our Dental Implant Center in Toronto for a consultation.

The risk of infection is present both during the implant process and as the implants heal. As the posts are fused to the jaw bone, there is a risk involved in the process; it must be allowed to heal correctly to the bone. The gums must be cut open to allow the post to be implanted, and any time there is an open wound, there is a risk of infection. During the healing process, signs to watch include discharge or pus, oozing, or discoloration; any signs of heat on the cheeks or fever may be due to infection. Don’t hesitate to contact our skilled dental professional specializing in all-on-4 dental implants in Toronto if you experience any of the abovementioned signs.
